Session 10

Hi guys!

Today I’m gonna make my last post in this blog. It was the first time that I had a blog. I know that it is for a class for the university, but I think it was a very interesting experience that I had never made it before. 

I think it helps me to practice again english in the writting part. I finished the school three years ago so for me was very good and difficult to write again in english but I think that it is a very good way to practice this part of the english studies. I would like to continue practicing and learning my english because I think that english is very important to know in our present and our future, and also if we can it’s important to know other language. But now and in the next semester I would like to continue practicing my english because I think it is the only way to don’t forget it and to improve my knowledges in this language.

I think blog are a very good implement for practice this language but I think that this blog need more subjects that we can discuss and we can share our opinion about diferent subjects.

I’m very happy with this experience and I definitely recommend it to other classmates that have to make this course.

Session 9

Hi! Today I want to talk about my hobbie Ballet. I dance Ballet since I was 3 years old. I really like it, because with dance I can say what I feel, without words just with the body and the movements.

Yesterday I decided to go to the “Teatro Municipal de Santiago”, because I want to see the new ballet for this season. This ballet is “Gisselle”.  Gisselle is a romantic ballet, that shows the love story for Gisselle and Loys. They love each other , but he has  a secret. He hide his real identity and that he is engaged with Bathilde. When Giselle find the true, her heart didn’t resist so she die.

When she die, the Willis come for her. The Willis are spirits that want to get revenge to the mans that made to lost her life with his treachery.

All the music and the dance that we can see in “Giselle” is just amazing and the story of this Ballet make  to  this two hours for movements and music a very charming and funny story that makes you have a very great time when you see it. 

Session 8

Hi!

Today I’m going to do a little journey in what happend in this semester. When the semester began I was very happy to be finally in my career and no more in Bachillerato.  Everything was very fine until my ex classmates and I had to take our subjects, and I didn’t have one of the first year of the career so I was in a special situation. It was special because the Odontology School decided to change the curriculum of the career so my subjects for last year didn’t exist. In this special situation the school gave us the possibility to change to the new curriculum and with them we didn’t be in this situation that our subjects didn’t exist more.

After I thought it very well I saw that it was my best option so I’m now in the new curriculum with new classmates and in my first year again. It was very hard to decided that because I was very happy to be finally in my second year of my career, in the moment that I decided that I was very sad, but now I’m really happy because the new curriculum bring a lot of good thing that the old currilum don’t have. And also I have 3 friends that decided the same so I’m not alone in this new journey.

Now I feel that it was the best choice that I can have and I’m very happy for it.

Session 7

Today I want to talk about a website that helps me a lot in a subject  for my career. It is morfo.cl

When I began to study anatomy last year, the teachers told us that there was a website about the medicine school and they recomended us to use this website. So I discovered this website for my anatomy teachers.

I decided to use it every week to study for my tests, it was a very good website because it has a lot of photos of the human body and the different parts of the body that we need to learn. For example the muscles, bones, and so on.

I will recommend this website because it is a very good tool for anatomy, which is a very difficult subject in first year in odontology, specially in the second semester because we have to learn everything about the anatomy of head and neck.

Also it has a lot of webquests, and with them you can practice for the test of the semester. They are very good because the webquests are with time and when you finish you can see the right answers.

You need to log in with a user name and a password that the university gives to you.

Session 6

Hi!

Today I want to talk about dogs, and especially about my dog. I really like dogs. I think they are the best friend you can have. They are always with you and they understand and know when you are happy or sad or confuse, also they are a very good partner.

When I was a little child I lived in apartment, so it was very difficult to have one. My parents don’t wanted one, so I can’t have one when I was a child. But I always dreamed to have one. When I was 15 years old we changed our apartment and my family and I decide to moved to a new house, and my sister and I begged to our parents for a dog.  For that moment we have Wolfi our Pooddle. My grandmother have a female Pooddle and she is the mother of Wolfi, so my grandmother gave us Wolfi. He was just a little puppy  when he came home and now he is so big and playful. It is very difficult for me be in Santiago with out Wolfi but it is really gratifying go to Puerto Montt and feel all his love and that he miss me in the same way or more than my family. Wolfi is for me and my family one of us and I think that he is a very important part of my family.

Hi!

Today I want to talk about an important photo for me.

It’s very difficult to choose just one picture that I like to write about it. All the pictures bring a lot of feelings and memories.

I choose this photograph because is one of my favorite this summer.

This summer my friends and I decided to go out for vacations to Pucon and Valdivia. We had a lot of fun and it was a really good and relaxing moment, because we finally ended Bachillerato.

This photo was taken by my friend Catalina, the first face that you can see in the picture, in the close up.

In this picture you can see all my friends. We were in a park in Valdivia. Its called Saval Park. We decided to go to this park because we wanted to see the lakes with beautiful flowers and because it was the “Semana Valdiviana” so in this park there were a lot of games for kids and adults. So Catalina took this picture, the now famous “Selfie”, when we were all in one of the slides for this park.

This photo was taken this summer in February 2014 and I really like this picture, because it was a really great and happy moment because this photograph reminds me that sometimes happiness is in just simple moments.

Session 4

Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite film. It is The Black Swan. I love ballet, so this film it very amazing for me because I also love that ballet “The Swan Lake”. In 2013 I had the opportunity to see this ballet in the “Teatro Municipal de Santiago” and it was absolutly amazing.

Well the film shows the story of Nina. She is a ballerina in a New York City Ballet Company. She lives with her mother Erica, but she is absolutly obsessive and she want to control all the life for her daughter Nina and her career as a ballerina. All begins when de director of the Company want to make the ballet “Swan Lake” and  he search for a new Swan Queen. Nina is perfect for the Withe Swan but not for the Black Swan because she doesn’t have the character for that role. Nine decide to search the way to make the Black Swan perfectly, but finally in this way to search this role, she destroy himself. 

Session 3

Hello! I’m going to talk about my technological object. It is my phone. I’m guilty, I love technology.

I think I had two favorite objects my phone and my photografic camera, but now I use more my phone.

I got my phone in Christmas 2013. It was a gift for my father because my old phone was a little bit old so it didn’t work very well. I use my phone everyday, it is my clock, it connect me with my family, because they are in Puerto Montt, so it’s very important for me because I miss a lot my family and with it I can speak with them. I like it, because it is very nice and functional, but I can live perfectly without it. 

In summer I always go with my family to a location and in that location any phone works. It is a very good time to speak with the family and to share face to face with the people. My phone is my favorite technological object but I can perfectly live without it.  

Session 2

In this post I’m going to talk about my expectations for this semester.

This semester my subjects are “Desarrollo de Destrezas y autocuidado para el ejercicio profesional I”, “Procesos físicos y químicos para intervenciones clínicas I”, “Sociedad, cultura y recreación”, English and a sport course, so I choose tennis.

About my extracurricular time I decide to go to dance academy. I’m taking class in the dance academy  for Karen Connolly. I love dance so it very good for me take this classes. I go ones a week and I had a lot of fun and relax.

In this academic period I expecto to know my new classmates and I expect to pass all my subjects with a very good mark and if I can with out exams.

Blog session 1, About me

My full name is Pilar Andrea Carrasco Cárdenas. Everybody calls me Pili. I'm 20 years old, and I was born here in Chile on 4th June 1993. I live in Santiago de Chile alone since 2012, but I'm from Puerto Montt. It is a  rainy city in southern Chile. I came to Santiago to study in the University.

My family has 4 members, we are my parents, my little sister and I. My parents and my sister live in Puerto Montt. My Mom is called Karina and she is 51 years old and she works a lot, my Dad is called Renato and he is 52 years old and he works now indepedently, so most of the time he is with me and my sister. And finally my little sister is called Rocio and she is 13 years old, she goes to the same school that I went.

My School in Puerto Montt is called Deutsche Schule Puerto Montt. I studied my Elementary and my High School. Then I decided to came to Santiago, when I was 18 years old, and I was 2 years in Bachillerato, because i didn't achieved the mark in PSU to get into Odontology at Universidad de Chile. Now I'm in my first year in Odontology. In Bachillerato I met very good friends and my boyfriend Nicolás. He studies Odontology in the same University than me but he is in his second year.

My hobbie is dancing. I dance Ballet since I was 3 years old. Now I'm in Santiago I always go to Municipal Theater to see the Ballet of Santiago. I have seen the Swan Lake Ballet, the Nutcracker Ballet and the last I saw was the Peer Gynt Ballet.
